Medan, the capital of North Sumatra Province, is one of Indonesia’s largest and most dynamic urban centers. Covering an area of approximately 265.10 square kilometers, Medan had an estimated population of 2,474,166 as of mid-2023, with a population density of around 9,330 people per square kilometer.
