The Mental Health Project (MHP), implemented by Yayasan Nurani Luhur Masyarakat (YNLM) from
2020 to 2025, is a community-based mental health rehabilitation initiative aimed at restoring dignity
for people with mental disabilities in Medan, Indonesia. The project was carried out in two primary
locations: Helvetia Tengah village and the Mental Health Hospital Prof. Dr. M. Ildrem. MHP was
designed to reduce stigma, improve access to quality mental health services, and mobilize community
support for people with mental disability through a participatory, rights-based, and empowerment focused
approach.
